- Dipped headlights-These are dimmer than the full-beam headlights, though they are the most commonly used. They are brighter than sidelights. They are mostly used at night when there is reduced visibility and during bad weather.

- They are used to prevent accidents, especially at night since they illuminate the road in front of you.
